History of Shengapura

Wait, I know you hate History.

Sadly, I don't. Come on, History is so fun!

However, what I can promise is I'll make it really interesting so that you will be giggling away at the end.

I swear!

It consists of 2 islands, and the mainland is called Shengapura City. The second island is named Shengtosa, where the famous Merwong statue was erected. The legend famously said that the Merwong was swept by the wave into the shore, and only to be saved by this person called "Sheng", and hence the name.

Recently, we build up a new hotel. It's called the Shengila-Hotel! Now you have a roof covering your head when you come over to Shengapore to visit as a tourist. The rates are rather cheap as well, 100 shengapore dollars at the cheapest room for one night, with only a shower and a bed.

It was also known that Shengapura was being invaded by the Yongpan. Since at that time there were only "Sheng", he fought gallantly at this famous landmark, now known as Fort Shengloso, and was able to chase out all the Yongpan's soldiers!

The president? That's me 'Lord Wong', and if I had a wife, she would be the vice president. The eldest kid would be the Minister Mentor, the second would be the Senior Minister and so on and so forth.

The rest who are not in his family? They are called Shengtizen!

This small republic has already 3 Shengtizen, and growing!

Hey, the benefits are great ;)

Law? What law? Since I make up the majority of population and I'm the president, do you still have to guess who makes the law?

The currency we use is called Shengapore Dollars (SH$). It has unknown exchange rate, it might be as booming as the US economy, or as booming as the Hell Gate's economy. This one must ask the Shengapore Stock Exchange located at Shengton Way.

Flag? Take blue paint pastels and splash it on a piece of paper. That's my flag, it has no standard design so that it can fulfill one's wishes for this nation.

I'm sure you all are not amused by the crap I had written. This is the real reason:

This name Shengapura, derives from a song.

"Oh Singapura, Oh Singapura
Shiny island set in the sea
Oh Singapura, Oh Singapura
Pretty flowers bloom for you and me"

I'm sure you all had heard this song before. It was a Singapore national song!

It was one of the songs used by Songs of The Sea, for the dance performance by the actors and actresses. I used to work there you see, and I would always be hyped by this song.

What I did was that I replaced the word "Sing" with "Sheng", and viola!
